LaughTER, LearnING and Fun ON THE FARM

“Exploring Farm Animals” is an interactive summer learning program

designed for children entering K-5th grade.

Our farm provides an ideal environment for children to ‘experience’ learning through hands-on farm and animal activities, games, and crafts.

Exploring Farm Animals offers a different theme every day. The presentation, activities, and crafts are designed to reinforce and coincide with the presented subject matter so every child has fun while learning. The program changes daily covering a different farm animal so a child can partake in both summer sessions without repetition.

The curriculum is designed for children entering K-5th grade, where they will learn about farm animals and their habitats, via stories, hands-on activities, and crafts. Children will explore the farm through their senses - hearing the rooster crow, feeling the softness of sheep’s wool, and seeing the rich color and beauty of a chicken’s feather.

Program Notes:

  • Each child should bring along a trash-less boxed lunch, drink, and a refillable water bottle that can be used throughout the day.

  • The majority of The Experience is outside with activities such as walking on wooded trails and interacting with farm animals.

  • The learning program will be held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, program participants should bring appropriate outerwear.

  • Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Enrollment is extremely limited.  A child is not considered registered until written confirmation has been sent, via e-mail, by Dalby Farm.

NEW in 2026!

Farm Animal Caregiver Learning Program

This new Hands-On program is designed for children entering 6th - 9th grade.

2026 Dates
5 Days (M-F) | August 10th-14th, 2026

Drop-off begins at 9am | Program RUNS 9:30am-11:30am

Each day of the 5 day program, will focus on a different farm breed living at Dalby Farm. Every day will begin with a learning session so that the child has a greater understanding of the ‘focus animal of the day’.

From there the caregiving will begin. There will be options ranging from washing dishes/buckets to being in the stall sweeping/scraping the animal living areas. We offer different levels of ‘hands on’ so that the child can decide how in depth they would like to be.

Once the cleaning and set up is complete, we will finish our day by picking up after ourselves. It is very important to not only do the vartious tasks but also, to be sure the tools are returned to where they belong and that the gator is emptied and ready for the next job!

Of course, animal socilization is always encouraged and time allowing, children will finish their day spending some time with our animal friends!

Program Notes:

The program will be running from August 10th-14th, 2026 and will be held from 9:30am - 11:30am each day. You may drop off as early as 9am for your convenience. Please wear seasonally appropriate clothing that can get dirty and please be in boots. We do recommend, however, that each participant order a Dalby Farm T-shirt that they can wear each day during the program. Ordering information can be found on the registration paperwork. Be sure to bring your water bottle!
